“The precise attack, the full sound, the luminescent thought: everything was on an infinitely superior level, of an absolute professionalism…We’re already in the presence of a great quartet.”

November 4, 2016 (New York, NY) – Described by Gramophone as "the epitome of confidence and finesse," the Calidore Quartet, has established an international reputation for its “lustrous, beautifully matched sound, meticulous attention to detail, intellectual rigor, and worldly musicianship” (Ottawa Citizen). Consisting of violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry, and cellist Estelle Choi, the Calidore is enjoying an unprecedented year of accolades heralding inevitable prominence.

In February 2016, the Calidore became the first North American ensemble to win the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and in May 2016 went on to win the Grand-Prize of the 2016 and inaugural M-Prize International Chamber Music Competition hosted by the University of Michigan, the largest prize for chamber music in the world. This fall, the Quartet was also recently named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists for the 2016-18 seasons. The 2016-17 season marks the first of the Quartet’s three years in residence with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center’s prestigious CMS Two program.  In 2016 the quartet was also named Visiting Guest Artists at the University of Delaware and will serve as Visiting Artists-in-Residence at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance.
